The short version
We use cookies only for authentication sessions and basic diagnostics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember information about your visit, such as whether you are signed in.
Cookies we use
Mufmuf sets only first-party cookies. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Authentication session cookie (strictly necessary), set by NextAuth.js to keep you signed in across page loads. Without it, you would be logged out on every navigation. Expires when your session ends or after a rolling period. You cannot opt out of this cookie while signed in to the Service.
- CSRF protection cookie (strictly necessary), a short-lived cookie used to prevent cross-site request forgery during sign-in. It contains no personal data.
- Locale preference cookie (functional), records your chosen display language so your preference is remembered across visits. Contains only a locale code (for example, “en” or “he”); no personal data.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use Microsoft Azure Application Insights for server-side diagnostics and performance monitoring. Application Insights may set a first-party session correlation cookie (ai_session / ai_user) to correlate telemetry across page navigations within a single session. This data stays within our Azure tenancy and is not used for advertising. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable and secure service.
What we do NOT use
- Third-party advertising or remarketing cookies
- Cross-site tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts
- Social-media tracking scripts embedded on our pages
How to control cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Deleting the authentication cookie will sign you out. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies by default; since we do not set any, this has no effect on the Service.
For guidance on managing cookies in common browsers, visit the browser's support site (for example, Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
Changes to this disclosure
We may update this disclosure when we change the cookies we use. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
